Napowrimo

DAY 12

Rosie was at it again

Jumping feet first into black holes
Somersaulting over moon beams

Flying high on love
Powered by an atomic mushroom cloud

It always transformed her into
a Titan, mastering super human feats
Prima Ballerina of the galaxy

Flexing muscle so powerful that
she unwittingly pushed the walls
of the bubble with such intensity
it burst into myriad pieces
debris dotted like confetti
throughout the universe

The music of the spheres stopped
All was still,the only sound
a woosh of a shooting star
punctuating the black silence

Deflated like a limp balloon
Rosie drifted down slowly to earth
swaying in the breeze caught on a tree branch
like a wartime parachutist

After a time
She revved herself up
into take off mode again

Propelling herself up and away
over the mountains and looking back
over her shoulder
She saw a faint glimmer of a ray of sunshine
in the far distance

Her first impluse was to race back
and take it with her

It had been her only warmth
during the harsh winter
but the vastness that separated
them was too great

Besides it was not hers to take
It belonged to the sun

  1. Whimsical, like a Miro painting, against a palette of the cosmic.

  9. Whimsical, fantastical, artistic painted against the reeling planets, the depth of space, filled with color and shooting stars. I feel like I do after a fireworks display...stunned and exhilarated!

  10. "Ride it on out like a bird in the sky ways
Ride it on out like you were a bird

    "Rosie, oh Rosie
