...Carpe Diem

This poem is based on Andrew Marvell's " To His Coy Mistress"

Carpe Diem

Had you courage and spirit enough and time
This coyness of yours would be no crime
Let us roll all our strength and all
Our sweetness up into a ball
And throw it projectile upwards into the sky
Holding on tight until the day we die
Carpe diem, throw caution to the wind
Remove the shackles and iron rods of sin
And if we dally don't fly quite soon
Opportunity disappears and we will be doomed
Turning your quaint honour into dust
And into ashes all my lust
The grave's a fine and private place
But none I think there do embrace
