Rochester Does Reality

Poetic Asides

Marriage
A wreckless decision
Can be complex
Even  disastrous

A stalking shadow
Trailing  close til days end
A life sentence
Til death us do part

A mill stone
A crown of thorns
A promethean curse

Everyone needs
endurance and grace
A boozy Grace Poole
to survive it

Where is saintly Jane ?
Plain devoted Jane of
Staunch love and heart
To keep the ship afloat

Only in the romantic mind
Of a Vicar's lovelorn daughter
Crying into her mittens
On a freezing night
Howling gale from the moors
filling her ears

Sigh..Jane
Jane is in the books
Warm and rose'd glow
Her arms will not hold you
Her lips will not wipe away your tears

Mad Bertha
Commander of the cheque account
May have to stay after all

At least the family castle
and almost all of the limbs
Will stay in tact

  3. Everyone needs endurance and grace to survive it--that's the truth! Some great lines here; I especially like "Crying into her mittens / On a freezing night"
