Who Wears The Big Leaf ?
a pin scratch
across glass
peace in relationships
war of the sexes
diurnal murder
a woman of substance's lot
refusing to submit
to male supremacy
playing straight bat
not good odds
without eye fluttering manipulation
dabbling in the art of feminine wiles
practised for centuries packed in a darwinian
survival kit
the cave bunnies
of passion and fire
never received the brochure
and kept punching out
fire bombers with
vehement honesty
integrity
in upholding
what is what
peace and joy
visit often
but only ever stay fleetingly
stamped into the ground
by some
hateful bastard wrecker
trying to assert ascendancy
fat chance
peace -
the last nail
in the coffin

ha. now that was a completely different take on the prompt...appreciate that...i think that it is very easy for relationships to get out of balance in this regard...either of the sexes asserting too much control unbalances it and well from there it gets a little crazy...smiles.
ReplyDeleteWell let's face it Sugar- men are still programmed to think they know best:)
ReplyDeletePerhaps for all, peace and joy are somewhat fleeting....they come and go in life, in relationships. The last stanza stuns.. Peace - the last nail in the coffin. I know I might think of that in a bit of a different way than you do; but ya, that would be peace...forever. Not necessarily what one sought in life. A thought-provoking write.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary. My poetry reflects my mood state and what I am feeling or thinking in that moment. There is alway s conflict to a greater or lesser degree when human relationships are involved unless you are one of the stepford wives:)
ReplyDeletei totally understand this...that wrong kind of peace that isn't really, that leads to death in the end by not facing the problems..
