A Complaint

Inspired by  " A Complaint "  by William Wordsworth

having and wanting
" my fond heart
hath made me poor "
nothing is allowed to me
nothing that i want

a piece of jewellery
when all i want is washing
to be hung out to dry

dinner at a restaurant
just help me
with the potato salad
by chopping the herbs

i am venus living with a martian
in the good wasp tradition
of non empathetic
vagueness and
chauvinism

i do not care
if you read this
at least it's real
and not suffocating
in  the  musk overpowering
violets of my great love for you

" what have i ? shall i dare to tell
a comfortless and hidden well "

well now i feel better
and the whole world
knows
that i have the shits with you
which will last approximately
4 hours

    1. Defiance rather than apathy I think Brian. Be prepared for more 'moan' poems. January is a hideous month:)

  2. A bit of good, old fashioned foot stomping, me thinks. Anyways, 4 hours is not so long if it means avoiding house work. Besides, all will be well before bedtime!

    1. Poetry is good for venting the spleen. Repressed anger leads to ill health. I like writing this journal/ diary poetry. Doris and the Domestics group is going on strike.!
