a man is menaced
by a nightingale
in her reluctance to tap dance
on his back
she became so overwrought
at the thought
of this unusual sport
she put her shoes on back to front
the imaginary demons
that menaced him from behind
were increasing in number
he arranged for his eyes to
be placed in the back of his head
this was her first exorcism
she fumbled in her bag
for her phone to ring
the priest hotline
too late
they were closed down
for non essential repairs
