Magic Slippers
i wish they were mine
desire is such a hard thing
to bury and submerge
she wanted them as a child
she wanted them as an adult
the twinkling jewels gold
and smooth rubies
they seemed to make everything
alright
if she put these on
life
would be transformed
of course she never got them
then or now

if only it was as simple as shoes or a trinket to take us there....its the magic of childhood to believe it though...a bit sad she never got them...
ReplyDeleteWe all hope for those magical shoes that will transform all of life into a ball. Some people DO seem to get them, which makes it seem all the more unfair. Too bad I don't read French--maybe it sounds more positive when read in French!
ReplyDeleteNo it's not positive in French either Nico.
DeleteI enjoyed both the English and French. Wouldn't it be fun to have those shoes? To dance in a world of our imagination!
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes!
Deletethey look a bit uncomfortable =)) squishy for toes.
ReplyDeletei have toffee red patent leather shoes now and they make me feel like ruby slippers =)
They sound lovely. Hope you have a big tulle ballerina skirt to match:)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful write. I totally loved the idea of the ruby slippers from 'The Wizard of Oz' taking me away.
