Painting by Mike Stallard -
he had to have his say
he wanted to be clear
emotionally fiery gesticulating
a scintillating package of humanity
the other pensive philosophical
calmly considering weighing it up
listening sombrely to the word
both chosen for their attributes
both fine men
and guess who got the keys
(grin)
hmmm...they both have their strengths...but i think i would def go with the listener...for the long term...smiles.
ReplyDeleteErm...well someone smarter than you are made a different choice for the long term..but we wont go there!
DeleteWhat great imagination you show in this, Cressida. The painting is so open to interpretation and yours is unique.
ReplyDeleteAnd who knows, probably heretical :)
DeleteI identify more with Doubting Thomas--I can see why Peter got the keys. Establishing a world religion takes a little fire! Nice work, glad to be back reading and commenting!
ReplyDeleteHa..here's a boy that knows the Gospel. Welcome back!
ReplyDeletePeter got the Keys because he spoke and acted from the heart with passion and conviction. He took risks. He didn't always understand but was open to the Spirit. The sort of chap, in fact, we'd love to spend an evening in the pub with!
ReplyDeleteAgree..I wanted to give that impression. So Peter types have the G approval stamp. Unfortunately it creates a lot of envy in lesser types and poor Peter could find himself crucified upside down in the middle of a desert.
