Autumn

the season of melancholia
and mist is a distant memory

autumn girl was beautiful
but her russets and browns
were not my palette

when autumn leaves drift
by my window it is only in
a karaoke rendition

i no longer need to accompany
Persephone back to the underworld
for her gloomy sojourn

the greek gods are not happy

  3. Ah, I am glad Persephone took her journey on her own....unaccompanied! And that gloom was averted. Smiles!
