Oh, east is east and west is west
and never the twain shall meet...Rudyard Kipling
she knew it was dangerous
crossing that river into
powerful aromatic foreign love
the ancestors and thousands of years
of civilisation filled her ears with
warning bells
as she began to sink into the quicksand
they threw her a line to drag her back across
keep breathing,keep breathing
they sang in monophony of plain chant
she thrashed about flailing arms and legs
determined to stay afloat
blanketing her mind
focussing on the river bank
not so far
if she could only hang on
even now
she must blind herself to memory
of those mesmeric smiles smells and sounds
and remind herself
to never look back
oo it sounds rather enchanting...to the point of madness almost...in need of blinding to the past...and to move on, def never look back...
ReplyDeletesometimes the only way to keep away is to close our eyes and turn around to never look back... dramatic scene here.. but sounds it was worth the danger
