Hotpotch Quilting

the fabric of my life
is a multi coloured
collage

a profusion of
flowers
plants
pastries
perfume
philosophy
language
music
giggles
peeling onions
(thousands of them)
tears
washing dishes
men
from the cold climes
anything frozen
angst
the wild
birds
reptiles
heat
jeeps
jumping
off rocks
the sea
the sun
trills
white sand
colour
chortles
fingers
fugues
the south pacific
tropical fruit
tropical weather
text
men from the hot lands
anything melted
eucalyptus
smirks
clipping toe nails
doing the laundry
the smell of incense
ginger
cloves
soft petal lips
fabric
cushions
carpets
mosquito coils
hands
sarongs
angels
crosses
rosary beads
water
fresh water
salt water

ALL
splashed
splashed across
a huge canvas
or maybe one wall
or maybe two walls
or...

Amen

  1. when i read this the first time, i read these three lines together

    jeeps
    jumping
    off rocks

the next line is the sea, so i thought jeeps jumping off rocks into the sea, very evil kenivel

  3. Many smiles here at the men of all climes, and the patching together of all the scraps that make a life art--since I believe living well is definitely an art. You've sketched a very intricate picture with a minimal amount of lines, not a word wasted, not a word needed.

  5. zongrik, doing a 'thelma and louise' is not my style:) I'm a daredevil cerebrally but not physically.

I agree hedgewitch, living well is an art form
requiring lots of imagination and creativity and is the ultimate revenge foisted on all one's enemies:)

  6. I like what you did with this prompt, the details you included about yourself which made up the quilt of your life! Very clever idea.
